A seemingly simple, easy-to-implement change can have a positive impact on your practice. Staff name badges make patients feel at ease and help facilitate friendly relationships between medical workers and patients.
A recent nationwide survey finds four out of five patients say it is important to identify the name and specialty of medical personnel when being treated. Seventy-nine percent of respondents say they trust a hospital or medical institution more when the doctors, nurses, technicians, and staff are identified by name and job title. Ninety-three percent of all respondents, men and women equally, prefer that the medical team also be identified by their individual specialties, such as oncologist, occupational therapist, cardiologist, social worker, etc.
Most important, wearing a name badge helped 84 percent of the patients surveyed to connect with the medical staff personnel when being treated.
There are numerous products on the market, including several that are convenient and eco-friendly. Such systems provide on-site tools and software to create and personalize badges with names, colors, and logos. No matter what name badge system you choose, chances are your patients will appreciate the personal touch.
